Brevard – Burley Edgar McCall, 89, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Louie and Lettie Owen McCall. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Mr. McCall was a member of Dunn's Rock Masonic Lodge #267 for 57 years, 8 months. He was the former owner/operator of Pisgah Grocery in Pisgah Forest, NC and following his retirement from the grocery business he worked for Moody-Connolly Funeral Home and Pisgah Gardens. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Mary Frances Bryson McCall; son, Gary Lee McCall and wife Renee of Pisgah Forest; daughter, Brenda Burleson and husband Rick of Texas; brother, James L. McCall and wife Joyce of Pisgah Forest; sister, Arvetus McCall of Pisgah Forest; grandchildren, Brandon McCall, Rachel Jones, Chris Gillespie, Megan Gillespie, and Chad Laney; eight great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Greene officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
