Penrose - Calvin Foster McCall, 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November14,2021. Born in Otto N.C., Calvin lived most of his life in Transylvania County where he worked his early years as an auto mechanic and later retired from Transylvania County Solid Waste. He was the son of the late Henry Lawrence and Gertrude McCall. He was also preceded in death by his wife Blanche N. McCall, brothers, Frank, Leslie, Raymond, Junior, Jack, and Tommy McCall, sisters, Myrtle Newton, Edith Shonkwiler, and Katherine Barnett. Survivors include his son Mike McCall and wife Wanda of Penrose, daughter, Debbie Brown and husband Spencer of Penrose, brother, Charles McCall of Little River, sister, Jo Smith of Deer Park, TX, grandchildren, Amber Taylor and husband Daniel, Michael McCall and wife Courtney, Josh Brown and wife Kristin, Jon Brown and wife Heather and Tiffany Corn and husband Will, great grandchildren, Hunter and Hailey Taylor, Walker and Harleigh Brown, Jace, Ansley and Kayleigh Brown, Tucker, Dawson, and Hudson Corn and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, November 18,2021 in the Chapel of Moody Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-2pm on Thursday prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
