Carl Bishop, age 78, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2012, after a lengthy illness. He was most recently a resident of the Beystone Health and Rehabilitation Center of Fletcher, NC and was a life-long resident of Brevard and Pisgah Forest, NC. He was an employee of Ecusta for many years and then was a heavy equipment operator and owner. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his father, William L. Bishop, Sr., and his mother Marguarite Addie Bishop. He leaves eight children: Mike Bishop and his wife Surretta from Fines Creek, NC; Peggy Long and her husband Billy from Burlington, NC; Elaine Owens and her husband Jimmy from Penrose, NC; Kay Fisher from Lake Toxaway, NC; Harry Allen Bishop and his wife Angeline from Marion, KY; Kim Bishop and his wife Kirsten from Cedar Mountain, NC; Patricia Daves and her husband Tim from Rosman, NC; and Scott Bishop from Pisgah Forest, NC, as well as twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves one sister, Jenny Marguarite Thompson from Chesnee, SC; and six brothers: William L. Bishop, Jr. from Cedar Mountain, NC; Charles L. Bishop from San Antonio, TX; Arthur Bishop from Largo, FL; Harry H. Bishop from Ocean Isles, SC; Stanley T. Bishop from Bradenton, FL; and Dennis R. Bishop from Cedar Mountain, NC. Funeral services will be held at the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday August 28, 2012 at 12noon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rocky Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cedar Mountain.
