She and her husband traveled extensively around North America before choosing the mountains of North Carolina for their retirement home. Carol loved North Carolina and was a great advocate for the preservation of trees, animals, and the natural beauty of the Mountains.
Carol was a loving daughter, sisters, wife, aunt, great-aunt, friend, and devoted mother to the lucky cats and dogs in her life. She is survived by her brother Jim Picone, sister-in-law Betty Picone, and sister Mae Picone and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
