Brevard - Carol Johnson, age 79, loving mother of three children, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Carol was born on October 18, 1942, in Florence, SC to the late William and Ruby (Johns) Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie.

Throughout her life, Carol worked a wide variety of jobs such as: bus driver, hairdresser, Healing Touch practitioner and she earned her nursing license as an LPN in 1991 and ultimately earned her degree as a registered nurse. As a registered nurse, she worked in Dorotha Dixie State Hospital in Raleigh and in the Men's prison in Raleigh, NC. Upon moving to Brevard, she continued her nursing at different memory care units in the area.

Carol lived a full life and spent many years volunteering in support of her faith in the Lord. She volunteered with the Baptists on Mission organization providing disaster relief assistances to those effected by several natural disasters. Carol combined her passion for arts and craft with her faith, by constructing and creating multiple hand puppet characters. Along with her newfound talent of ventriloquism, she used her puppets to spread the gospel by performing for countless church activities. Undoubtedly, she touched many lives through this endeavor.

She also loved to bake and what a great baker she was. She enjoyed making many different sweets for family. Her biggest passion was decorating cakes and cupcakes.

Survivors include three children, Bill and Michelle Jordan of Red Oak, Iowa; Mike and Heidi Jordan of Brevard, North Carolina; Melanie and Jackie Creech of Brevard North Carolina; sister Victoria Johnson and Stan Jacobsen of Brevard North Carolina, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held 2pm, Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home, Brevard North Carolina.
