Carrol "Pete" Fisher Owen, 58, arrived in Heaven on Sunday, February 19, 2012 after a brave battle with cancer. Pete was born on June 6, 1953 to the late Clinton Ford Owen and Lucy Fisher Owen of Lake Toxaway. To his family and friends, his lovable and sincere personality always brought joy and laughter to their lives. He was full of life and his presence always filled the room. He always had a big hug, unforgettable smile, and a kind word to share. He enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time with his family and friends, camping, and playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Clinton Owen and wife Carolyn Sue of Lake Toxaway; son, Chip Owen and wife Beverly of Pisgah Forest; daughter, Crystal Pouge and husband Frankie of Pisgah Forest; adopted daughter, Hallie Owen of Idaho; a caring and loving girlfriend, Tami Goostree of Pisgah Forest; step-sons, Thomas Sweezy and wife Brittanie of Hendersonville, and Nick Sweezy and wife Linz of Hendersonville; three granddaughters, Chloe, Caroline, and Camree Owen; two grandsons, Memphis and Drayton Sweezy; two special children, Megan and Bryan Goostree. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, February 21, 2012 at Brevard Community Church, Morris Rd. Burial will be in Lake Toxaway Baptist Church Cemetery and will be preceded with a motorcycle ride to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Tuesday at Brevard Community Church.
