Brevard - Carroll Samuel Holden, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. He was the son of the late Frank Edward and Bertha Mason Holden. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Lois Galloway, Dorothy Moore and Ruth Bryson and one brother; Douglas Holden. Mr. Holden was a member of Etowah Baptist Church. He proudly served his country for 22 years in the U. S. Army. He enjoyed gardening. He adored his family and loved being around them. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years Cleo Holden, daughter; Debbie Freeman and husband Roger of Hendersonville, son; David Holden and wife Missy of Hendersonville, brothers; Charles Holden and wife Peggy of Arden, Richard Holden and wife Brenda of Brevard and Jerry Holden and wife Eula of Pisgah Forest, grandchildren; Jennifer, Karly, Joshua and Sara and great grandchildren; Emma, Greyson, Hope and Brayden. Funeral services will be 2pm, Monday, January 23, 2017 at Etowah Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
