Pisgah Forest – Carroll Roy Marshall, 82, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012 at his residence. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Joseph Roy and Viola Stepp Marshall. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Clarence William Marshall. Mr. Marshall was a member of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, Trustee, and on various committees. He was a member of the Pisgah Forest Lions Club and he played bass with the Pisgah Mountain Travelers. Mr. Marshall was an avid fisherman, music lover, community helper with mission trips, Habitat for Humanity, and the NC Baptist Men's Disaster Relief. He always had a helping hand, ready for anyone who needed it. He was loved by all. Surviving are his wife, Helen Elizabeth Allison Marshall; son, Donald Keith Marshall and wife Linda of Horse Shoe; daughters, Deborah Carole Marshall Landreth and husband Steve of Pisgah Forest; Melanie Marshall Williams and husband Charles of Denver, NC; and Deidra Marshall Bracken and husband Phillip of Indian Trail; grandchildren, Jerrod Paul Marshall and wife Christy, Nathan Scott Marshall and wife Nisheel, Christopher John Landreth and wife Renee, Stephanie Carroll Landreth Connor and husband Dan; Shannon Elizabeth Williams Gunter and husband Justin, Matthew Arnold Williams and wife Keri, Carrie Ann Williams Huffman and husband Alan, Allison Nicole Bracken and husband Eric; Rachel Alexis Bracken, Kayla Renee Bracken, 13 ½ great-grandchildren; sister, Rhea Marshall of Pisgah Forest; brother Bob Marshall and wife Hilda of Brevard. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church with the Rev. David Spray officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Monday at the church.
