Catherine Stevens O'Neil was born on February 15, 1936

She grew up in Boone, NC, and was preceded in death by her parents Blaine and Grace Stevens, her sisters Helen, Opal, Billie, Sue, Ann, and her beloved Aunt Stella.

She is survived by two children, Steven O'Neil and wife Marian of Pisgah Forest, NC,  daughter Lesly and husband Jonas Laws of Granite Falls, NC, and two much-loved grandchildren Cody and Ashlyn Laws.  Several nieces and nephews and her beloved great nephew Ethan Ingle of Johnson City, TN.

She was a graduate of Lees McRae College and Appalachian State University and was a retired primary school teacher with Henderson County Schools for over 30 years, and was beloved by her students and coworkers alike.

A celebration of life service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church on April 27, 2024, at 2 pm.  Instead of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Moody-Connolly Funeral Home and Crematory in Brevard, NC will be in charge of arrangements.
