Arthur Cecil Wilson, Sr. Brevard - Arthur Cecil Wilson, Sr., 93, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Myrtle Wilson, brothers, Roy, E. C. and Herbert, sister, Elsie Thomas, and his beloved wife of 73 years, Walterine. He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Steel and husband Bruce; son, Artie Wilson; sister, Anna Belle Parker; grandsons, Jeff Steel and wife Marie, Scott Wilson and wife Michele; granddaughter, Kim Nanney and husband Steve; great-grandchildren, Nichole Cash and husband Craigin, Brookelynn Nanney, Tyler Wilson, Rebecca and Zachery Wilson; great-great granddaughter, Paisley Cash; multiple nieces, nephews and extended family. Cecil was a longtime member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving as Chaplain for over 60 years. He served on the Carr's Hill Baptist Church Deacon Board for many years, ministering to his church and Savior in so many ways. He was greatly loved and will be missed. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Carr's Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Hardesty and Rev. Dick Westbrook officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private family graveside service with full military honors will precede the memorial service.
