Brevard - Charlcie Marguerite Peek Smith, 91, passed away March 31, 2013 at Kingsbridge House, Brevard. A native of Carroll County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Bruce Marion Peek and Vassie Harris Peek and was the wife of the late Allen Marvin Smith. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jackie Irene Peek, Cloteal Peek Patterson, Mary Ellen Peek West, and Amy Peek Rainwater, brothers, Audie Lee Peek, and Weems Philmore Peek, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Smith retired from Olin Corp. in 1974. Surviving are her sons, Ronald Smith and wife Mary of Brevard; Kenneth Smith and wife Barbara of Everette, WA, and Weems Smith of San Jose, CA; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. The graveside service will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 5, 2013 at Gillespie-Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:30 pm Friday at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family would like to thank KOALA and Kingsbridge House for the care they gave to Mrs. Smith during her declining health. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
