Charles Richard Garren, 78, of Brevard passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. He was the son of the late Luther Eugene and Jessie Tinsley Garren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Eugene Garren, Jr.; sister, JoAnn McCall and a grandson, Charlie Harwood. Charles was proud to serve his country as a US Marine. Survivors include his companion for more than 40 years, Margie Jones; brothers; Clifton Garren and wife Carolyn of Hickory and Tommy Garren and wife Roxanne of Seneca, SC, sisters; Nancy Cantrell of Mills River and Agnes Phipps of Brevard and many step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Monday, October 2, 2017 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military honors conducted by the Transylvania Honor Guard.
