Charles Edward "Bud" Searcy , age 81, of Rosman went home to be with the Lord on Sunday August 14, 2011. He was born December 27, 1929 in Transylvania County to the late Louie and Bertha Lance Searcy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marie Searcy, one son; Jerry Searcy, three sisters; Carrie Whitmire, Edna Cox and Annie Mae Searcy and three brothers; Bill, Monroe and Jerry Searcy. Survivors include two sons; Charles Searcy and his wife Betty of Dacusville SC, Randy Searcy and his wife Marcia of Rosman, four daughters; Wanda Galloway and her husband Terry of Rosman, Mary Ann Brown and her husband Ed of Oickens SC, Dorothy McGrew and her husband Jimmy of Pickens SC, and Lisa Cagle of Marietta SC., one brother; Bob Searcy of High Point NC, two sisters; Ruby Raines of Brevard and Bonnie Sapp of High Point NC, eleven grandchildren; Tina Allison Craig, Chris Whitmire, Randy, Regina, Rebecca and Jamie Searcy, Brianna and Hannah Cagle, Amand Searcy Riddle, Aaron Newman and Kameron Newman, and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 16, 2011 at 2:00pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Michael Pressley and Rev. Larry Wilson. Interment will follow at Old Toxaway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00pm at the funeral home.
