Brevard – Christeen Gibson Moore went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2025. A native of Transylvania County, NC, she was born on June 19, 1936, to the late Lawrence and Bertha Gibson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lyndon Moore, a sister, Mary Snyder (Bill), and a brother-in-law, James Bates.

Christeen spent many active years in church teaching Sunday School, serving as a custodian, and being a faithful, God loving member. Her time with Lyndon at the Lake Toxaway Community Center brought her so much pleasure.

After breaking a hip, she spent her later years at Sapphire Ridge where she really always wanted to go back home but just wasn't able to. She always enjoyed a visit from family and friends.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Young (Hale); one sister, Lue Ellen Bates; one sister-in-law, Verony Cagle; 2 grandsons, McKinsey and Matt (Ashley); two great-granddaughters, Caroline and Claire; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Charlies Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
