Christine Bane, 96 of Downers Grove, IL and Brevard, NC passed peacefully into the light at her home Sunday August 31st surrounded by her family. Christine was born January 25, 1918 in Atlanta, GA. She attended the University of Chicago and went on to a life of adventures including operating the nuclear reactor at Argonne National Laboratory. She was preceded in death and now happily reunited with her Husband of 73 years Ralph William Bane, her brother Emory Cook and her Sister Kay Cole. She is survived by her daughters Carolyn and Cynthia Bane; her grandchildren, Jennifer Bane and Sean Burke-Bane and her beautiful great grandchild, Emily Christine Charbonneau. Christine was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and lover of life. A celebration of this amazing woman's life will take place at the Moody-Connelly Funeral home Chapel Sunday September 14, at 3:00 with a reception following at the Phoenix on 14 S. Gaston Street.
