Florence Christine Hamilton, 96, of Penrose passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at The Elizabeth House.

Christine was born on March 20, 1930, in Buncombe County. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Hamilton; sisters, Helen Cochran, Margaret Johnson, JoAnn Norton; brothers, William “Snook” Austin and James Austin.

She was a member of Little River Baptist Church. She and her husband Fred owned Cascade Grocery in Little River from 1947-1993. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and always reminiscing of good times gone by.

Surviving are her daughters, Frieda Hamilton Holbert of Etowah and Rhonda Hamilton Siniard of Penrose; son Rodney Hamilton of Penrose; grandchildren Isabella Grace Hamilton and Matthew Pressley; and brother Harold Austin of Etowah.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be held at Little River Baptist Church on Sunday, July 26th with visitation from 2-3pm, and the service at 3pm, with burial following at Little River Baptist Church Cemetery.
