Clifford Powell Rosman- Clifford Powell, 92, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Elizabeth House, Flat Rock, NC. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Wick and Annis Powell and was the husband of the late Hazel Ruth Brooks Powell. Mr. Powell was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during WW II. He was retired from Olin-Matheson Corp. and was a member of Middle Fork Baptist Church. Surviving are his daughter, Wanda P. Vaughn and her companion, Ben Barker of Hendersonville, TN; son, Carl C. Powell and wife Sharon of Savannah, GA; brother Coolidge Powell of Rosman; sister Vera Mae Cassell of Pickens, SC; granddaughter, Jenna Shearer and husband John of Marietta, GA; great-granddaughters, Lila and Kate Shearer. The graveside service will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2012 in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Chester Chappell officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard for Transylvania County Veterans. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 PM Monday at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
