Colleen Key Danner of Pisgah Forest, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 26, 2010. She was born in Lenoir, North Carolina and raised in Thomasville and Hickory but resided in Pisgah Forest for the last forty-six years.

She was the daughter of the late Beryl Key and Florence Key Helton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Monroe Key and his wife Vera Key.

She retired from Olin Corporation in 1980, loved the Lord, and was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church where she taught six year olds in Sunday School for a number of years.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty six years, Troy Lee Danner, who was the love of her life. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter Patricia Sprouse and her husband Onald of Advance, NC, a daughter Ann Whitmire and husband Ned of Hendersonville, NC; three grandchildren, Kelly Yarborough and husband Terry of Hendersonville, NC, Kristi Gallimore and husband Chad of Myrtle Beach, SC, David Reese and wife Patricia of Eugene, Oregon; Six great-grand-children, Ryan and Matthew Womack, Alex and Amy Yarborough, Haleigh Gallimore, and Zachary Reese. Her family was truly the joy of her life.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Revs. Raymond Whitfield and Tommy Owen officiating.  Burial will be in Pisgah Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 am Friday at the funeral home.
