Columbus Roy Clanton Brevard – Columbus Roy Clanton, 63, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Brian Center, Brevard, NC. A native of Etowah County, Alabama, he was the son of Myrtle Whitehead Clanton and the late Columbus New Years Clanton. Along with his father, Mr. Clanton was preceded in death by his brothers Neugene Clanton and Newman Clanton and sisters Helen Morgan, Flora Ashe and Rachel Wilemon. Survivors include his mother, Myrtle Clanton of Brevard, brother, David Clanton and wife Virginia of Rosman; sisters: Yvonne Owen and husband Mike of Pisgah Forest, Sarah Hubbard and husband Monroe of Brevard, and June Clanton of Brevard; and several nieces and nephews.
