Connie Lee Burk Mack, 70, of Brevard passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Charles Hilbert and Elsie Mae Will Burk. Although Connie struggled with Lupus all her life, that did not hinder her from obtaining her MBA and fulfilling a career in Medical and Business Administration. She also became an Airplane and Helicopter Pilot. She was also Flight Instructor and owner of a Fixed Base Operation and Air Hearse. Above all, Connie was a loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved animals and was very generous in donating to local animal shelters and pet rescue programs. Surviving are her husband of 15 years, Ray Mack; son, Roger Earl Duppstadt of Baltimore, MD; daughter; Carolyn Lee Smith and husband Scott of Palm Bay, FL; brother, Charles Hilbert Burk, Jr.; sisters, Elda Irene Mills, Betty Jane Cooper, Dorrie Luekenga and Elaine Ann Hillegas; grandchildren; Randy Swiger, Jr., Taylor and Travis Duppstadt; one great grandson and very close friend; Hilda Swiger. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Transylvania County Humane Society, 379 Ross Road, Brevard, NC 28712.
