Obituary

Constance Herrick Boylan

Connie Boylan passed away peacefully on January 28, 2021, after a long battle with dementia.

She was born to Henry and Dorothy Day Boylan on May 6, 1943, in Oak Park, IL. After graduating from high school in Flint, MI, she earned a nursing degree at Mott Junior College.

Connie pursued a career in nursing in Minneapolis, MN, and in Baltimore, MD, before moving to Brevard, NC, where she worked at the Transylvania Regional Hospital. In Minneapolis she volunteered at the Hennepin County Sexual Violence Center. In retirement, she earned a BA degree at Brevard College. Connie enjoyed travel, counting among her favorites her trips to Alaska, Ireland, and New Zealand. An adventure seeker, Connie rafted the Grand Canyon and sampled sky diving. She supported programs that encouraged children to enjoy and learn about the outdoors and had a special passion for the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.

Connie was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Roger. Special thanks go to the staff at MemoryCare and at Tore's Home, who provided her care for the last five years.

In accordance with Connie's wishes, no services are planned.
