On July 31, 2025, Curtis Gene McCall passed away in his home at 97 years old. He was born in Transylvania County, NC on April 4,1928.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years Lottie Morgan McCall, his 6 children, Shirley McCall, Wayne McCall, Ellen McCall, Judy McCathern, James McCall, Jason McCall ,15 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and his brother Vess McCall.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dora McCall, his father, Jason Plato McCall, his sister Edna Ellen McCall, and his brothers, Edwin McCall, Medford McCall, Elzie McCall, Virgil McCall, Ray McCall, and John McCall.

Curtis served two years in the United States Army. He worked as a HVAC Technician for several contractors before finally starting his own Heating and Air business. He served for many years as a Deacon at Selica Baptist Church.

Curtis was a family man who worked very hard to provide for his family. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing all over North and South Carolina, and Georgia.

Curtis was a man who like to forge his own paths in life. He never followed where the path was well worn, instead he ventured where no path existed, and his wake left a path for others to follow.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will in Mt. Moriah Cemetery with military funeral honors.
