Dana Mason Stevenson, 71, of Brevard passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, from cancer. She was born on January 28, 1949, in Brevard to the late Russell Dexter Mason and Georgia McCall Mason. Her husband, Joel Bond Stevenson, and her sisters, Anita Louise Mason and Elaine Mason Zachary, preceded her in death. She is survived by her stepdaughter Sarah Holly and her husband, Jim, and grandson Maxwell of Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and niece Alana Hoenicke and her husband, David, and their children Lauren and Vanessa of Greenville, South Carolina. She also had many cousins and friends. Dana attended Brevard High School, Brevard College, and Mars Hill College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing. She worked at Dupont Film Manufacturing Facility before becoming a realtor. She enjoyed real estate and was employed at Sandra Purcell and Associates Realtors in Brevard until her retirement. She has previously served on the Boards of Directors of DuPont Credit Union and KOALA Adult Day Services. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brevard. She played basketball in her youth and enjoyed music. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a friend to animals, especially her cats Tiger and Lily. Because of the pandemic, there will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. There will be food and bluegrass music at her service.
