Daniel Haven Taylor, 87, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Elizabeth House, Flat Rock, NC. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Henry Logan Taylor and Polly Ann Adams Taylor and was the husband of the late Leah Nicholson Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brevard. He was retired from Olin Corp., was an avid beekeeper, and had been a small independent businessman for 25 years. Surviving are his son, Marvin Taylor and wife Christie of Greenville, SC, granddaughter, Dawn Jackson and great-grandson Taylor Jackson both of Naperville, IL; daughter, Marcia (formerly Jones) Taylor of Brevard, grandson, Travis Taylor of Brevard and granddaughter, Loretta Jones of Hopkins, SC; sister, Ruby Freeman of Cullowhee, NC; brother, R. Clifton Taylor and wife Oma of Bryson City, NC; numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731 or to one's favorite charity in his name.
