David Daniel Jones Brevard – David Daniel Jones, 72, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014. David was the son of Velma Hungate Jones and the late David Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lacy Jones. He proudly served his country as a military police sharp shooter for the US Army. He was a NC State Trooper. He was an SBI Special Agent for 30 years and served as a Captain for the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office for 15 years. He was a member of the American Legion and a member of the Crime Stoppers organization. He was an avid golfer. Surviving in addition to his mother are his son, David D. Jones, Jr. of Forest City, NC; daughter in law, Kristi Jones of Forest City, NC; sister, Brenda Whitt and Husband Tommy of Coal City, WV and his grandchildren; Eric, Sidney and Suzanne Jones. Funeral Services will be held 1pm, Friday, March 7, 2014 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
