Brevard - David Reade Roberts passed away suddenly on June 3, 2023 one day prior to his 67th birthday.

Born June 4, 1956, in Columbus, Indiana, he was the son of Reade A. and Mary E. Roberts (nee Spears). Formerly of Allentown, PA, David attended William Allen High School graduating in 1974 and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh, College of Pharmacy.

Survivors include two sons, Jason Alan Roberts and his partner Laura Yarnall of Slatington, PA and Ryan James Roberts and his wife Leona, and the proud grandfather to their daughter Izabela, residing in Mertztown, PA. He is also survived by his brother H. Gordon Roberts and his wife Valerie, uncle to Matthew G. Roberts, Esq. and his wife Dr. Jessica Roberts, Esq., Alexander S. Roberts and his wife Megan, and Nicholas S. Roberts and his wife Tosha, and great uncle to five nieces, Emily, Evelyn, Hannah, Liliana and Leah

Dave had a great affinity for computers and technology having worked several years at a computer sales and service store in Allentown, PA. He had a wide array of interests including cooking, and for many years hosted an annual Boxing Day Open House for family and friends highlighting a day of celebration and culinary delights This event sometimes exceeding one hundred guests, and Dave took that opportunity to collect items for two homeless shelters dear to his heart; The Haven and Save, Inc. He enjoyed woodworking, and obtained his CDL license. Dave greatly enjoyed the varied musical performances in the Brevard area, especially at the Brevard Music Center. He was also very active in the AA association in Brevard, being a sponsor and meeting leader.

Dave was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Brevard, North Carolina where he was very active, serving on several committees, on the board, and as treasurer.

Services will be held at Unitarian Universalist Church, 24 Varsity Street, Brevard, North Carolina on June 18. There will be a gathering with family at 2:00 and service at 3:00. Streaming of the service is available through a private YouTube link. For access, please contact the family. A Celebration of Life will be held in Pennsylvania at a future date.
