Deacon John "Jack" Burke Jr. age 77, of Flat Rock died Wednesday February 29, 2012 in Benson Arizona. He was born December 2, 1934 to the late John James Burke Sr. and Yolanda Ganguzza Burke in Bronx New York. He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Lt. Col after serving twenty two years. He served the catholic church as a Deacon for thirty years serving in Connecticut for sixteen years and the remaining fourteen years at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brevard. Deacon Jack although busy with the church activities he and his wife Frances found the time to travel the United States in there R.V. which they both enjoyed. Survivors include his wife Frances Hughes Burke, two sons; Thomas Burke of Bristol Connecticut and Stephen Burke of Lake Mary Florida, one daughter; Theresa Girard of Lake Mary Florida, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am Thursday March 8, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
