Obituary

Debora (Debbie) Carol Simpson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, in Brevard, North Carolina, at the age of 68. She was born on October 28, 1956, at Barksdale Air Force Base hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana, to her loving parents, Lowell and Sara Bryson.

For 49 beautiful years, Debbie was the devoted wife of David Simpson. Together, they built a legacy of love, raising eight children and welcoming 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Family was at the heart of everything she did. She made sure each person felt cherished, never forgetting a birthday, and always striving to include everyone.

Debbie had a gift for seeing beauty in the world and in people. She had an unmatched eye for decorating, a deep love for flowers, and an incredible talent for creating— whether with her hands or her heart. She could make something from nothing; every craft, quilt, or handmade treasure carried a piece of her warmth. She believed in the potential of others, passing down talents to her children and grandchildren, and always giving people the benefit of the doubt.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. As a devoted and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had a strong testimony that she lived by daily. She was a source of light and encouragement, always ready with a kind word, a listening ear, or a reminder of God's love.

Debbie is preceded in death by her father, Lowell Bryson, and her son, David Simpson. She is survived by her devoted husband, David Simpson; her loving mother, Sara Bryson; her sister, Sheila Nicholson; her brother, Vernon Bryson; her seven children; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom was deeply loved.

Her children and their families include: Mandolin and Shariff Lewis – India Lewis, Ezra Mooney, Anora Knox, Alicia and Ethan Orr,

Bonnie and Irwin Benjamin - Christopher Benjamin, Bailey Benjamin, Tellis Benjamin, Avery Benjamin, and Jaxx Benjamin

Debbie's life was a testament to love, faith, and creativity. She filled every space with beauty, every heart with warmth, and every moment with meaning. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the lives of those she touched.

Debbie's love was limitless, her kindness unshakable, and her legacy everlasting. Though she has gone home to be with the Lord, her spirit will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
