Debra Rice Jamerson, 61, of Brevard, passed away unexpectedly at Mission Hospital after a short illness. Born March 19, 1960, she is the daughter of G.F. and Ruth Stewart Rice. Also surviving is her loving husband, Robert Jamerson, and four children: Sarah McMahan (Brian) of Etowah; Preston Garren (Whitney) of Etowah; John Jamerson of Brevard; and Matthew Jamerson of Brevard. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Dakota McMahan, Gabriel Garren, and Gavin Garren and one brother, Jeff Rice (Gala) of Brevard; niece, Christina Lorenz (Ian); two nephews, Caleb Rice (Brittany) and Joshua Rice (Shay); one great niece and two great nephews. Debra was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George J. and Jeane M. Stewart; her paternal grandparents, Grover F. and Doris C. Rice all of Cashiers, NC. Debra enjoyed being a homemaker, and providing childcare for her younger grandchildren. Each morning she looked forward to conversations with her mother and sharing the daily news. She observed the wildlife that visited on their property - deer, turkeys, and bears, and would alert her family to be careful. Indeed, she will sorely be missed. A private service will be held.
