Debra "Debbie" O'Kelley Whitmire, 66 passed away on Friday August 19, 2022, after a hard fight against metastatic breast cancer. She left us way too soon. Her beautiful presence and love will be sorely missed. She is survived by her husband Rich Whitmire; mother Ruth O'Kelley; father James T. O'Kelley; daughter Hollie McDaniel & spouse Barry; four grandchildren Brooklyn Maxey & spouse Jonathan, & Clint, Mercy and Maggie McDaniel and one great grandchild Easton; three brothers and one sister, Derrick O'Kelley and partner Paula Ruse, Barry O'Kelley and spouse Lori, Andrea Ward and spouse Reese, & Jeff O'Kelley; two step brothers Chris and Vic O'Kelley & one step sister Babara Steele: nieces Anna Ward & Morgan O'Kelley & nephew Steven O'Kelley & wife Bailey. Debbie was born in Gwinett County, Georgia and graduated from Norcross High School and retired from United Community Bank. She loved to travel, the outdoors, gardening, art and music, but reading most of all. She was intelligent, strong and caring, and always went out of her way to make people feel special. The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Messino Cancer Center and Transylvania Regional Hospital, who treated Debbie with so much compassion. Also, everyone at Four Seasons Hospice and Marcus at TRH who went above and beyond to get Debbie home where she wanted to be.
