Dennis Wayne Stewart, 74 of Transylvania County, NC, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025 surrounded by love.

He was born on February 24,1951 to the late Clyde and Cornelia Stewart.

He was a proud graduate of Rosman High School, Class of 1969. He loved playing football for the Rosman Tigers and held the deepest respect for Coach Cathey.

After a long career, he retired from DuPont, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dedication and the many friendships that were made during those years. Outside of work, he was an avid hunter who found joy in the mountains of Colorado, often accompanied by several men who made every trek with him across the country. He treasured the countless rides riding the trails with his beloved  horse Regallo, his daughters and friends -memories that brought him great happiness throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Stewart, 3 children: Casey Austin (Anthony) , Caley Yenko (Bobby), CareyToole (Justin), six grandchildren: Sadie, Allie, Cody, Colton, Skylar, Harrison.

He is also survived by 2 siblings and many cousins.

Those who knew him will remember his quiet strength and deep love for his family.

A celebration of Dennis's life is being planned and will be shared at a later date.
