Obituary

Dominique Diane Owen, 51, of Brevard, NC, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. She was born on July 9, 1974, to Daniel Lawrence Owen I and the late Beth Denise Gantt.

She was a devoted mother to Channing Nicole Moore and her husband, Trevar of Quebec; C’jon Conley and his wife, Breanna of Mills River; Cavan Walker; Coron Howell; and Camora Howell of Brevard. She was a proud grandmother and leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Nyleiah Mackenzie, Aeralyn Monroe, Teagan Mia, and Rowen Gantt. Dominique is survived also by her siblings Danielle Owen Brock, Amanda Morgan, Adam Morgan, and Delilah Owen. She was preceded in death by her mother and her brother, Daniel Lawrence Owen II.

Dominique lived her life with a fierce devotion to the people she loved. She worked hard, never shying away from responsibility, and carried a quiet strength that made her a steady presence for her family. Whether she was working long hours, helping someone in need, or stepping in to support her children, she did it with determination and without complaint.

She was a dedicated professional, having worked for Brevard Elementary and the Transylvania Schools. She was known for her strong work ethic and her love for children and genuine care she conveyed to everyone she met.

She had a warm, magnetic personality — the kind that made people feel welcome, understood, and safe. Dominique had a gift for listening, for offering comfort, and for telling the truth with kindness. Her laughter was unmistakable, and her sense of humor could brighten even the hardest days.

She loved her family above all else. Her children were her purpose, and her grandchildren were her joy. She celebrated every milestone, big or small, and she showed up — always. She also loved the simple things: time outdoors, good music, holidays spent together, and the traditions that made her feel connected to her roots. St. Patrick’s Day, especially, brought her happiness and a sense of fun that she shared with everyone around her.

Dominique will be remembered for her resilience, her loyalty, her generosity, and the way she poured her whole heart into the people she loved. Her legacy lives on in her children, her grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.St. Patrick's Day was one of Dominique's favorite holiday, so the family has requested guests dress in festive attire while we celebrate her life.
