Donald Alfred Cheek, 81 of Lake Toxaway passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024,  just 40 days short of finishing his 82nd voyage around the sun.

He is survived by the love of his life Loretta Gail Jones.

He was retired from the United States Airforce, where his work included K-9 handling and training, he loved dogs.

Don was also retired from DuPont.

He enjoyed trying to keep close tabs on his graduating class from Brevard High School, they were a close group of friends! A special Thanks to Mrs. Hazel Hawkins.

Don was preceeded in death by his son Kevin, from which he never fully recovered.

A memorial service was held Wednesday September 4th  at 3pm at Moody Connolly's funeral home.
