Brevard - Donald Charles Gibson, 75, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026 at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville after an extended illness.

He was the son of the late Joseph Charles Gibson of Marion and Evelyn Chappell Gibson of Brevard. Don was proceeded in death by his parents, and a loving uncle and aunt, Emerlyn and Mildred Orr.

Don graduated from AB Tech with an Associate degree in Business Administration. He was medically retired from management in the fast food industry.
He was a strong advocate for animal rights and was known for taking in strays and giving them a loving home.

He is survived by wife Elizabeth, his sister Sandy Whitmire (Gary), Aunt (More like a sister )Delores Dodson(Ross), niece Sonya Mckelvey (Thad), nephew Brian McCall (Jamie),4 great nieces , 2 great nephews, 1 great-great niece and several first cousins he was extremely close to.
