Donald Paul Ravert
Brevard – Donald Paul Ravert, 81, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Oaks of Brevard.
A native of Rockville Center, NY, he was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret Ross Ravert. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Mr. Ravert worked as a printer for Arthur Anderson of NYC on Wall Street and retired as a lumber yard manager at Chester Lumber Yard, Chester, NY. He was a disabled veteran who served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War in which he was wounded and received a Purple Heart.
He was a longtime member of Chester Presbyterian Church, Chester, NY where he served as Deacon and Elder. Since his move to Brevard, he had been a regular attender at Morningside Baptist Church. For the last three years he had been a participant of KOALA Adult Day Services. He was a 3rd Degree Mason and a former member of the Brevard Lions Club.
Surviving are his sister, Barbara Voorhes and husband Rev. William Voorhes of Pisgah Forest, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Friday, May 31, 2013 at Morningside Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
