Brevard, NC – Donald L. Voglesong, 85, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. Born in Grantsburg, IN, he was the son of the late Harry and Pearl Froman Voglesong. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Martha Batman Voglesong, and his brother, Ronald Voglesong. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II and was a Battle of the Bulge P.O.W. He was a retired School Administrator and he was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brevard. Surviving are his wife, Twighla Walts Voglesong of the home; sons, David Voglesong and wife Barbara of English, IN, and Danny Voglesong of Germany; brother, Arnold Voglesong of Evansville, IN; grandson, Travis Voglesong; great-grandson, Brayden Voglesong. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday at the First United Methodist Church of Brevard with the Rev. Mike Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Gardens with military graveside rites conducted by the Honor Guard for Transylvania County Veterans.
