Doris Pauline Holcombe Aiken of Rosman went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, after a period of declining health at The Oaks of Brevard. She was born June 28, 1942, to the late Rev. Claude Holcombe and Ruth Cantrell Holcombe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers Kenneth Warden Holcombe, Hinton Holcombe, Harrison "Shorty" Holcombe and James "Pete" Holcombe.

Doris loved her family and friends, good food and gardening. She especially loved growing flowers. Her grandson was the apple of her eye.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Arthur Aiken, son Clayton Aiken and wife Debbie, son Bryan Aiken and wife Cynthia, and grandson Kenneth Aiken. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm, with visitation beginning at 1 pm. A graveside service will follow at Old Toxaway Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Oaks of Brevard for the exceptional care they gave Mrs. Aiken.
