Dorothy Baxter Johnson, of Brevard, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, at the age of 91, from natural causes.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Johnson and her son Scott Johnson, who passed away last year.

She is survived by her sons Chris Johnson, David Johnson and Daryl Johnson and her grandsons, Andrew Johnson and Christopher Johnson.

A resident of Brevard since 1967, she held a Master of Business Administration degree from Western Carolina University, which she attained after raising her four sons. She subsequently served as benefits and compensation manager at Ralph Wilson Plastics in Fletcher for many years, where she was highly regarded.

She took great joy in her sons' achievements and always encouraged them to set high goals and work hard to achieve them. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandsons.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Dorothy Baxter Johnson will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, in the chapel at the First United Methodist Church.
