Dorothy "Dot" Holden Moore
Hickory – Dorothy "Dot" Holden Moore, 83, formerly of Hendersonville, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Springs of Catawba after an extended illness.
A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Mason Holden and was the wife of the late Everett C. Moore. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Bryson and Lois Galloway, and her brother, Douglas Holden.
Surviving are one beloved daughter, Sherry M. Thompson and husband Billy M. Thompson, Jr. of Hickory; one granddaughter (much loved), Bambi Thompson Hoyt and husband Michael; two cats, Mr. Kitty and Ginger; brothers, Richard Holden and wife Brenda, Jerry Holden and wife Eula, Carroll Holden and wife Cleo all of Brevard, and Kenneth "Buster" Holden and wife Peggy of Arden; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Galloway and Kenneth McCoy officiating.
The family would like to give a huge thank you to Springs of Catawba for excellent care and kindness and a giant thank you to Hospice for all the kindness and extended love and care to mom.
Memorials may be made to a local Hospice organization.
