Cedar Mountain - Douglas McArthur Corn, Sr., 79, of Cedar Mountain, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. He was born March 24, 1942 to the late Mac and Dora Lee Owens Corn. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his step-mother, Ruth Corn, former wife and mother of his children, Tobitha Thomas Corn, brothers R.L. Corn, Dewey Corn, Garland Corn, and Sherman Corn; sister Gail Corn Ridings. He retired from Dupont with 30 years service and became self-employed doing tractor work, repairs and caretaking for Gene Stone, Ben Keys, and Dr. Billy Hagler. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Corn, his son, Douglas M. Corn, Jr. and wife, Alisa, his daughter, Derinda Powell and husband, Harry, stepson, Ray Parker; one granddaughter, Deanna Corn, great grandchildren, Reagan and Carter, sisters, Lois Maxine (Tinky) Stanley, Lavada Lashley, Kay Corn; brothers Larry Corn and Jeff Corn and his beloved dog and constant companion, Millie, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
