Mrs. Dovie Galloway Whitmire of Rosman, NC, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 5, 2019. Dovie is survived by her five children, Steve Whitmire (Janice), Sherry Owen (Dennis), Sue Potts, Hank Whitmire (Melinda), Scott Whitmire (Peggy), 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and three sisters Ann Harvey, Connie Patterson and Ellen Gilstrap. Dovie is preceded in death by her husband Charlie, her daughter Joy W. Nelson and her son Bradley. She is also preceded by her parents, Benson Galloway, and Fannie Galloway Meece as well as her sister Dalice Shepard and brother Earl Meece. The family will receive friends at the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM followed by the funeral at 3:00 PM.
