Edgar Lee Davenport Pisgah Forest – Edgar Lee Davenport, 77, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 7, 2014. He was the son of the late Charlie Lee and Edith Jones Davenport. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bradford Davenport. He was born May 5, 1936. Ed was a retired U.S. Forest Service Surveyor with over 33 years of service. He was a longtime member of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, traveling and listening to blue grass/gospel music. Surviving are his wife Angelyn Burns Davenport; daughter, Diana Davenport; son, Christopher Davenport; brothers, Charles and Waylon Davenport; sisters, Phyllis Davenport Ritch, Janice Davenport Packard and Becky Davenport Wilkerson; great grandson, Jordan Michael Heim and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Tommy Owen officiating.
