Edgar William Daves, age 86 of Rosman, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2019. Mr. Daves was a lifelong resident of Transylvania County and was the son of Evangel and Rhoda Owen Daves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Donna Vee, his sister, Pauline McCall, a brother-in-law, Herbert McCall, and a niece, Christine McCall. He attended Living Hope Church of God and was a devout Christian. Mr. Daves was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed gardening, hiking, and hunting. Before his retirement, he worked as a heavy equipment operator building roads. Survivors include a daughter, Louise Daves of Rosman; two nephews, Kenneth McCall of Tuckasegee, and Curtis McCall and wife Hazel of Brevard; one niece, Jerlene Owen of Asheville; two great-nieces. D'Ree McCall of Brevard and Terri Owen of Asheville; one great-nephew, Johnathon McCall and wife Jessica of Brevard. The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, June 30, 3019 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Johnson and Rev. Ray Von Galloway officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Lake Toxaway, NC.
