Brevard – Edna "Irene" Hughey, 62, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Beulah Parton Pierson. She was also preceded in death by her son, Lamar Green. Irene loved her family. She was very fond of butterflies and her family and friends will be reminded of Irene each time they see a butterfly flutter by. Surviving are her husband of 35 years, David Hughey; son, Tommy Green of Brevard; daughters, Amanda Jackson and Sonya Smith of Brevard; brothers; Paul Pierson of Brevard and Chuck Pierson and wife Gail of Fletcher; sister, Judy Hubbard and husband Steve of Brevard; grandchildren; Allana, Deana, Elijah, Jonathan and Jason and four great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 1pm, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
