On February 9th, 2025, Edna Louise Woody went to be with the Lord. She is resting in the arms of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ after overcoming so many health hurdles. One thing everyone could see about Edna is she was a fighter. We will always admire how much of a fighter she was.

Edna was born on September 16, 1931, To Paul and Exie Whitmire and was also preceded in death by them as well. Edna was also preceded in death by her husband Floyd "Junior" Woody and sister Marie.

She is survived by her Daughter Debra Woody Raxter (Chan), Grandson Christan Raxter, Granddaughters Celena Barclay (Garrett), Kyla Anders (James), Great Granddaughter Sabra Barclay, Great Grandsons Eli, Graham and Boone Anders, Sisters Geneva Orr, Jerlene Cantrell, Irene Hooper (Mac), Brother Jerry Whitmire and her many nieces and nephews.

Edna was known for her sewing, crafting, cooking, socializing and hardworking nature. Edna was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We know she is in heaven chatting and laughing all day. Granny is no longer suffering; she is living in the freedom of the Lord.

Edna was known as granny to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they loved her dearly. You could find her taking them to buy prom dresses to helping them take steps to buying their first home. She was all in, you knew you could count on her to be there whenever you needed her even if you didn't know you did.

The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Thursday February 13th, 2025. The burial will be at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory immediately following.

The family will receive friends and family from 1pm until 2 pm on Thursday February 13th, 2025, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
