Brevard – Edward Riley "Eddie" Batson, 67, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015. He was the son of the late John Bunyon and Viona McCall Batson. Eddie had a very special love and affection for his mother. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny, Charlie, Bud and Kenneth Batson, and one sister, Carolyn Batson McCall. Surviving are his wife, Cathy Batson; children, Ty Batson and wife Alison, Nikki Batson, Shane Batson and wife Lindsay, and Kyle Self and wife Tina; sisters, Margaret Owen, Juanita Owen and husband Dwight, and Tammy Hummel and husband Mark; grandchildren, Dustin, Cole, Riley, Kyndl, Alex, Josiah and Eli, and many nieces, nephews and great friends. Eddie owned and operated All American Electric of Brevard for 20 years. He was a dedicated businessman. He devoted much of his time to helping others and never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The service will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. The graveside service will follow at Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pilgrim's Rest, a boy's home, 1192 Boswell Road, Hartford, KY, 42347. Eddie was very compassionate towards this organization.
