– Effie Devore Hogsed, 89, passed away on June 21, 2013. She was born February 11, 1924 to the late John Wiley Devore and Emma Mae Woodring Devore. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Artellus Tilmon Hogsed, one son Ronald Hogsed, and one daughter, Louella Hogsed, and an infant son; sisters Laura Belle Cain and Ethel Anders, and brothers John Edward Devore, John Wiley Devore, Jr., and Carlee Devore. She was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church, and loved her lord, Jesus Christ. Our mother will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Loved ones she leaves behind include her sons Leon Hogsed and wife Mary of Pisgah Forest, Roland Hogsed and wife Vesta of Lake Toxaway, Jimmy Hogsed and wife Kathy of Brevard, Tillman Hogsed and Glenda of Brevard, and Steve Hogsed and wife Waynetta of Brevard; daughters Eva Kimsey of Brevard, Louise Queen of Pickens, SC, Dorothy Owen and husband Herbert of Balsam Grove and Tina Phillips and husband Ricky of Rosman; sisters Eunice Anders of Brevard and Ailene Cain of Sneeds, Florida; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Von Galloway, Rev. Tommy Owen and Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Mack McCall Cemetery with Rev. Delbert McCall and Rev. Burlis Powell officiating. The family will receive friends two hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
