Elaine Ruth Christiansen, 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Elizabeth House, Flat Rock, NC. Elaine was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on September 26, 1925. She attended school in Kohler and later her family relocated to Sheboygan where she met and married Harold Christiansen in 1944. They moved to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1953 where Elaine was a long term employee at People's Gas. Elaine was active in the Daytona Beach Fireman's Auxiliary, Halifax BPW and the Lioness Club. In 2011 Elaine moved to Brevard, NC where she lived with her daughter Pat Tenny and her son in law, Bruce. Elaine is also survived by her other 2 children Mary Henck, (Donald) of Richmond, VA and John Christiansen (June) of Port Orange, FL., 4 grandchildren, Janel Wilson (Corbet), Adrienne Henck, Jason Tenny (Jessica) and Evan Henck (Leah), and 2 great-granddaughters, Jordyn Wilson and Elysa Henck. In addition, Elaine is survived by her sister Katherine Warburton of Sheboygan, WI. Elaine was pre-deceased by her husband Harold, her parents Theresa and Christ Kemle, sister, Elizabeth Michael and brother, Fred Kemle. She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Brevard Wesleyan Church.
