Elaine Ayers Raines, 70, of Brevard went home to be with the Lord on Saturday June 21, 2014 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a native of Transylvania County and the daughter of the late Ticie Talmadge & Eva Evette Phillips Ayers. She was preceded in death by two brothers Ticie and Earl Ayers and two sisters Rosie Powell and Norma Galloway. Elaine worked at Pisgah Fish Camp for more than 30 years. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harley Raines, and her beloved pet Little Bit; three children Debbie (Chris) Martin of Etowah, Tony (Teresa) Raines of Brevard, and Robert (Dawnia) Raines of Little River; six grandchildren, Heather (Jon) Brown of Little River, Justin (Kindra) Shipley of Etowah, TJ (Amber) Raines of Brevard, Bre Raines (Jonathan Traynor) of Saluda, Blaine Martin of Etowah, and Cody Raines of Little River; six great-grandchildren, Walker and Harleigh Brown, Peighton Raines, Bailie and Kenedi Hollingsworth; two brothers Charles (Eunice) Ayers of Pisgah Forest, Ray (Sandy) Ayers of Brevard; four sisters Jewell (Ralph) Hightower, Carolyn Ayers of Brevard, Shirley and Cissy Faye Ayers of Asheville; two sisters-in-law, Rue Ayers of Rosman and Mary Ayers of Pisgah Forest; two brothers-in-law, Jim Powell of Rosman, Pete (Annette) Raines of Brevard, honorary granddaughter Brittany Raines (Aaron Kampe) of Charlotte; honorary great-granddaughter Evey Kampe and numerous nieces and nephews Elaine's favorite saying was "I love you too…just a little bit". We love you too…a whole lot. The funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday June 25, 2014 at Moody Connolly Funeral. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, June 24, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
