Elden "Lee" Hoffman
5 November 1936 - 9 June 2013
Lee, as he was known to his wife, children, and friends, was horn 5
November 1936 to Otto Hoffman and Amelia Rodocker Hoffman in the
family home on Pittsburg RD, North Canton, OH. After completing his high
school education, Lee was inducted into the United States Army Corp of
Engineers 86th BN,CO B, Fort Dix, NJ, 2 May 1960. His active service was
from 2 May 1960 to 2 May 1962. His service to his country continued as an
Army Reservist until May 1964.
Lee is survived by Rosalie (Rose) Ann Hoffman, whom he wed 15
December 1962. They have two daughters, Christine LeeAnn (Dennis) and
Tammy Sue. He is also survived by 3 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 1 great-granddaughter and 2 great-grandsons, his brother Otto (Koonie) W. and
sister Barbara (Ralph) Hoffman Fetzer, and several nieces and nephews.
Lee left this earth peacefully at 12:50 A. M., 9 June 2013, at Elizabeth
House, Flat Rock, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, half
brothers, Fred and Clarence, his sister JoAnn who died at birth, his
brothers, LaVern (Vern), Virgil (Russ), Harold and George, and several
nieces and nephews.
An afternoon of Remembrance, and Celebration is planned in Ohio
when Elizabeth Amelia, his granddaughter, currently serving in the United
States Army Military Police, is able to attend. Elizabeth was unable to be at
her grandfather's bedside, but he was surrounded by her love in a place
called, Elizabeth House.
"Rest easy my heart and my love, find a bench in the sun and wait for
me!! It may be years here on earth but only the blink of your eye there. I'll
be there soon, love of my life!!
